I would feed him in the dark in a very businesslike manner and not play with him. (I know--that can be tough when they are looking up at you and are so-o-o appealing!) At three months and only feeding 3-4 hours a day, I would think that he probably could use the nighttime infusion of nutrition & calories (as well as your body could probably use the stimulation for keeping up your milk supply).

He may be one of those laid-back babies who isn't very tuned in to his body's signals--acting social and playful and forgetting that it was hunger that originally woke him up. I had one like that.
