Don't worry, this is normal and yes it will go away in a few weeks. My daughter had the same thing. I felt so bad for her because it looked so awful.

Does your son have cradle cap (crusty with a tinge of yellow?)or just acne? My daughter had cradle cap that spread to her cheeks. I used Vaseline and it made things much worse. The Dr then told me to use Moisturel. That worked really well.

There isn't really any kind of medication you can use at this point if it's acne. I would just wipe it if a towel once a day.

It should go away in a few weeks.
