Personally, I would only take the bottle away right now. I have a 33 month old son who still (in large part thanks to daddy) has his pacifier (ours is a sucky) but I am very hesitant to take it away completely because when he wants it a lot of the time it is because he is insecure or unsure of the situation. I have noticed that he is not near as dependant on it as he used to be and I am sure it will be gone for good by our 3rd birthday. I do however make him leave it in the car when we are shopping or running errands. I feel children will give their security items up when they are ready, some kids just take longer than others but 22 monthes he really is still very young. Remember, he is your child and you know what he needs best, follow your instincts - every child is different.
