Not sure if I have any good advice really, and it depends a little how your ER functions and what experience you've had there, 'cause it can be pretty awful. The reason to go sooner than your appt. would mainly be to know asap. Unfortunately, at this early stage they wouldn't be able to do much to stop a possible miscarriage, but you might need a D&C if that were to happen.
How about calling the doctor's office you have the sono scheduled with and see if you can come in earlier? Or did the ER schedule it? Maybe you can call the radiology dept. directly and reschedule...
If you decide to wait, I guess take it easy on yourself.
Good luck, I hope everything turns out o.k. I do know lots of women get some bleeding with no consequences whatsoever. Keep us posted!
