This goes for all parents who have this problem.....a reminder, YOU are the authority figure, NOT the child. Don't let the child tell YOU what he or she wants to do. With a problem like this You have to put them to bed, leave them alone and close the door. I know it hurts sometimes but no matter how much the child cries you have to just let it be and stand firm on your decision. If you go back in the room the child will know that they have won. Also the older the child the harder it is going to take to break them of this habit, but it CAN be done if you do it right. Note the child may have a couple sleepless and cryful nights but no one said it was going to be easy. Even if you have to take a week off from work in order to get a routine down, i totally advise it. No excuses. This is a bigger problem than most people take it for. Be strong mothers....its a long road ahead.
