SUBJECT: urinary tract infection
my 11 month old daughter was diagnosed with an upper urinary tract infection, possibly caused by food poisoning from a McDonalds hamburger. If we weren't such paranoid parents and didn't bring her straight to the emergency room because of her fever- if we had chalked it up to a little virus and let it run its course, the bacteria could have spread to her blood and then her brain in the form of menengitis, causing brain damage. Was wondering if anyone has heard or experienced anything like that and wanted to let other parents know.
Her only symptoms were a fever, loss of appetite and irritability.
