I had a hard time putting my daughter to sleep in her room by herself...when she was about 2-1/2 months old I started putting her in her crib to sleep at night--but I slept on the single bed in her room (talk about separation anxiety!), so when she woke up I'd just bring her into that bed with me. Thank goodness my husband is very understanding of my fear of leaving her to sleep alone! When she was 4 months old, I was finally able to put her in her crib, and go into our room to sleep--with the monitor on, of course. She is 6 months old now, and doing well with sleeping in her crib. I do end up going in there and staying when she stirs around 4:30 a.m., but that's about it. Obviously I am a first time mom! LOL! Hope it helps to know you're not the only one...everyone gave me a hard time about not moving her into her own room sooner, and about my sleeping in her room, but in the end, it has all worked out just fine.
