SUBJECT: 14-year-old son
I am a single mom with one son, 14. Trevor started high school this year and has not been handling the transistion well. He has missed several curfews and generally has declined in his overall behavior. After several other approaches didn't work, I told him if he didn't shape up, I would resume spanking him (he hadn't been spanked since age 12). Shortly thereafter, I indeed did administer a spanking (not harsh, simply my hand across his bare behind). His behavior has markedly improved since. Nonetheless, I am not sure I should continue to spank. I would dearly like some input from other parents of boys thia age. Thanks.
