SUBJECT: Dry, scaly skin w/red blotches-- help!
Hello! My 10-mos old son was admitted to the hospital for three days due to dehydration from the rotavirus. He has been homenow for 6 days. Now I am finding patches of dry, scaly skin on his arms and legs! Four days before he was hospitalized he was in the ER for what they think was hives/allergic reation to a new brand of formula I was trying. He has had the red spots on his face, arms and legs on and off since then too. Now there are a few red spots but mainly just the scaly skin. Could this be Fifths Disease or Ringworm? He does not seem to be bothered by any itching and has no fever. Also... I am still nursing him an I too am having some itchy dry skin to the extreme where I use a cortisone cream. Could this maybe be a yeast infection we both have? I am stumped. Please let me know what you think. I am so thankful for a place like this for moms to get/give advice!!! Thanks!
