Hi, I've read your story and found that it is alot like mine. My husband and I have been trying to concieve for 3 1/2 years. I've had one IUI that did not take and was diagnosed with PCOS. I could not afford to spend $1,000 a month for the fertility treatments every month so I researched PCOS myself and found out about metformin. I started taking in on 2/20/03 and was supposed to start on 3/2/03. I didn't start then so I took a test on the 10th. I waited so long because I was tired of all of the disapointment. The test came back positive! Now I'm waiting for my dr appt on the 31st and was wondering if I should continue to take the metformin. I only take 500mg a day and I'm afraid if I stop it could hurt the baby. I was just looking for some guidance from someone who has been there before. By the way the doctor who put me on Metformin was not my OB/GYN he just told me to keep trying. My other dr doesn't know that i've had a positive test yet.
