SUBJECT: we've created a monster.....
My 7 year old first grader has a 'behavior problem' at school; according to the teacher. After several discussions with my daughter regarding our expectations, and of course, loss of TV, playtime, etc., The sad-faced behavior charts keep coming home. Her work is good(not perfect) but acceptable and she is quite bright. I see no point in trying to modify bad behavior by use of physical punishment-ex. continual spanking, so what have some of you parents tried that has produced positive results? Also, does anyone out there think a child can have too much self esteem? Please share some wisdom.......
