SUBJECT: 9 month old with congestion, stomach virus, not growing
My 9 month old son, born in May 2002, began having ear infections when he was six months old, accompanied with a lot of congestion. This caused a lack of appetite. At 6.5 months old tubes were put in his ears and he seemed better with his appetite. He was hospitalized for RSV in late December (7 months old) and recovered. We noticed in January he was eating less and less solid food. We have taken him back to Doctor several times believing he had another ear infection. First week of March he was diagnosed with an ear infection. Round of Zithromax cleared it up but before he was over that he caught rotovirus and has had diarrhea for the past 8 days. He has not eaten solid food to amount to anything for six weeks. He was eating much better at six months than at 9. Any ideas?
