SUBJECT: Talking to 9 YO about puberty (stepmom)
I am a stepmom and my daughter (step) is 9. She started growing hair under her arms last year and now has pubic hair. Her mother and I don't have a decent relationship. I have been around since she was four and love her like my own. I don't want to step on any toes where her mom is concerned. Her mom had a hystorectomy (sp?) about 2 years ago, so I am not sure she is even thinking about the puberty thing.

Summer is quickly approaching and she likes to wear spaghetti strap shirts. I don't know what to do now that she has hair under her arms, not to mention the menstrual side of puberty.

Any ideas?
