He has to want help. I'm forty-four, female and have anxiety / panic disorder. My symptom was nausea from the time I was a small child until my late teens then got better. In my late Twenties I had what I thought was a heart attach at the time but found out I had just had my firt full blown panic attack. I see a Psychiatrist and have for some time now. You need to be given tools to use to help the part of the problem that you can, the medicine can't do it all. It is a chemical imbalance but you have to fight it too. It may get worse if he doesn't get a handle on it as mine did and my Doctors confirmed this can happen. But this is like alcoholism, you can't fix him. If he is getting those anti-depressants from a Family Practioner he seeing the wrong Doc. The meds are good but, you don't go to an eye Dr. if your foot hurts ya' know. Some of us have to try many anti-depressants & sometimes two different kinds at the same time before the Doctor finds the right one for that person. Good Luck to you both.
