The worrisome thing at the moment is his aggressiveness. He has always been spunky but never used to attack kids. He is in a preschool program and they have issues as well as with his aggressiveness. I was so sad when the teacher told me that the other kids were starting to become scared of him. My heart just broke. He never attacks the teachers, us or rips up the house. He is good with playdates. he does better in the pschool class of 8 then on wed.'s class of 12. The teacher did say the larger class was the more aggressive class and that my Son is rowdy in there but the smaller class is never a problem. He does great in structured time, songs, crafts, etc but has problems in free play. He will become possessive of certain toys. The teacher feels it all resolves around the sharing and not commmunicating issue. She was impressed with his knowledge of Spanish, counting, drawing, etc. My Som interacts great with older kids who run around. He is a sweet playful biy but gets way too posessive over items.

His lining up phase is getting better but he still has to have every piece to a puzzle and do not mess up his creations!

The speech path said she rec further testing because he is testing for knowledge of a 4-5 year old but expresses like a 2 year old. She said usually you do not become that bright without these expressive skills. She didn't think he had major problems like autism. She said he could be just "gifted" and that the aggressiveness will tone down once he communicates better.

Why does your son go to occ. therapy? What is ABA therapy?

These past few days we have succumb to timeouts. We really never had to use them before. But this time the chair is in the corner facing the wall. The first day we did this, my Son said Mommy, I'm crying! I felt sooooo bad but stuck with it. I hate doing this to him but he calms down in 20-30 seconds this way! I then am able to talk to him without him running away and ignoring me. I give him choices, sit it time out or say your sorry--for whateve he did- This is actually working I think! The last 2 days he has still been aggressive with kids but not tackling-just pushing which is much more milder than he used to be.

I will let you know in March what happens! It's nice to hear someone having the same knd of issues that I can relate to!!!!!!!!!!
