I have been reading both of your letters and would like to add my son to the list. Joe is 3.5 yrs old. I had him tested when he was two; not talking and acting weird (bad word, but appropriate) Joe had NO language, lined things up, got upset when I moved things, walked forward while looking out the side of his eyes, tantrums, etc. He is just now starting to repeat words and use them appropriately. I too have been very worried about the autism/PDD thing. I have been told that since Joe shows emotion (very attached to me and my husband and our 18 month old daughter) and has good eye contact, he most likely does not have autism. However, autism has a wide spectrum. My question to both of you is this: did your children begin to have these odd behaviors-tantrums, lining up, etc. after they had their MMR shot? (around 14 months old) I swear that was when Joe started doing this stuff and I am convinced that vaccine affected his development. Please keep me updated with your progress.
