 | hi,i'm having a power struggle with my daughter.she refuses to listen to me unless i say a thing 5 times or scream.she whines,calls me mean for every small thing that goes against her wish.if she's not occupied with something and i'm busy she'll trouble her 14 months old sister(sometimes she'll play with her though) that makes me go nuts and disrupts my work.whenever i have to say something about her inappropriate behavior she'll shut her ears and scream... STOP IT MAMA!!! That makes me feel so insulted and helpless.Its as if I'm the one at fault. she keeps repeating all the things she's told not to do and hence i cannot help but keep scolding her.i don't know how else u handle it.if its 2-3 times a day or one or two days its ok but everyday its the same story!the battle begins rt.from the morning..what to wear,how to tie her hair .what snack to take....etc.she however is a very QUIET child at school.at home she's just the opposite.i've tried timeouts,taking away previleges,giving happy faces for good behavior,rewarding good behavior,but nothing helps.she's back to square 1 after a day or two. i'm so overwhelmed that at times i feel like sitting and crying .i have a very hard time keeping my temper under control.its not sibling rivalry as she was like this even before the baby.Any advise wld. be really appreciated.Thanks. |
