SUBJECT: Is my child ready for kindergarten?
My 4 year old son doesn't seem to be as educated as other children his age. He doesn't know how to hold a crayon or pencil, he scribbles instead of coloring and he isn't to good with his letters or numbers, but I am working with him and he is being taught all this in preschool. His teacher is recommending to me that I not put him in kindergarten next year and to have him do another year of preschool so he can learn all the fundamentals. I have spoken to kindergarten teachers and they say not to worry that there is alot of programs for him if there is a problem. I am really tearing my hair out about this and I need some advice if anyone can help me.
