i too have been experiencing this for quite some time. my boy is 5 weeks today and has been doing this grunting and stretching (sometimes face red) for at least 3 weeks now. i have been to the doctors every week now since and i have tried the milicon drops and he is now on a stool softener even though he has bowel movements. the doctor isn't too concerned yet because he is eating (breastfed baby) and is gaining weight and has no fever. i'm to call him this week to let him know if the grunting has stopped since he is on the stool softener which is called "colace." he does have bowel movements 3 times a day at least. the grunting is a constant. when he eats, sleeps and especially at night. sometimes his face is red and sometimes it isn't. the doctor said he just might be a noisy baby but sometimes it seems like he is uncomfortable when he does this. sometimes not. i would like to know from anyone out there what they do and how they feel. i'm worried and don't know if i should be? do you think it's a digestive problem? he was 3 1/2 weeks premature. please help. i have read all the letters pertaining to this. anyone else have any comments to my letter? thank you!
