Marie: I am glad I read your message. My daughter was diagnosed first with Benign Rolandic seizures in Oct. 2001. This happened just as she was falling asleep and she remained conscious. She went until May 2002 before having another one. Then we had extra tests and her EEG was abnormal. Now they're calling it something else, but she had a few in the summer, very short (20-30 seconds) and also as she was falling asleep. They still think she might grow out of it, as she is quite tall and grows fast. I was interested in the swimmer's ear sentence, because I was reviewing my journal on my daughter and we had been swimming every time. Her last one was in September when she was still in swimming lessons. Now, like last year, during this winter, she has been seizure-free. She is on Lamictal, but she had those mild seizures after she was on it. Can you point me to more information on this particular kind of seizure (nighttime -- sleep-related?), and anything on the swimming connection? All the best, G
