SUBJECT: 5 year old won't give up his pacifier
I have a 5 year old grandson who is absolutely obsessed with always having a pacifier hanging out of his mouth. I've tried telling him I can't understand him when he talks with it, losing it, his dad even talked him into mailing it to Santa last year. His mother said she asked the dentist and it won't harm his teeth or development. His mother said he needs it to comfort him, but he was without it for a week and when he went back to his mom, she gave him another one. He's extremely smart and very determined. I think it's more of an issue of who's in control and he is.
