The program I enrolled my daughter in is called "Kinderbridge". It seems in my area anyway, that most private schools offer something of the sort. Do they have a cut off date in your area that the children have to be 5 before they can attend kindergarten? In my area they have to be 5 before August 31st or they cannot attend kindergarten. The public schools were very strict on this, but I did find a private school or two that would allow early starters. Although I ultimately decided against it anyway. Back to the kinderbridge. In this program, all children must be 5 by October 31st. They are teaching the basics of phonics, adding, subtracting, writing, things just to get them ready for the things they will be learning in kindergarten. In this particular class, my daughter has learned so much more in the past 4 months than she did in the two years at a school based preschool. Hope this helps.
