SUBJECT: My 3 year old son will not poop on the potty chair
We waited until he showed interest. 2 days before his 3rd birthday i found him on the potty chair going pee. I thought at last. He wanted underwear on, so I put on the old fashioned training pants ( i don't believe in pull ups), and thought we were on our way. It is now 4 months later, and he has pooped 2 times on the potty, and many poop accidents all over my playroom floor. He will ask for a diaper when he needs to poop. I have tried to put him on at this point, but he does not go. We have gone back to diapers to avoid a bigger problem of "holding it". My son normally goes 2-3 times a day, which was reduced to once or not at all with training pants.
My first experience with potty training was almost effortless on my part, I am at a loss as to what to do here. I know everyone is different, and my first was a girl. I know they are usually easier than boys. I just don't know what to do. I feel things like... keeping him in diapers, i am holding him back... Or I'm being a lazy parent by going back to diapers...Help
