SUBJECT: Winter Holidays and School
We live in a very small community -- our school/school district, K through 12 only has just over 300 kids attending. The area is also ultra-Christian, but we do have a few non-Christians living here'bouts as well.

Until recently, though, the board was very careful to be "PC" about things -- having "Winter Festival" programs instead of "Christmas" programs, etc.

We have a new superintendent for the district who belongs to the same church as most of the other folks in the community. On Monday, I noticed that the billboard by the school talked about a "Christmas Sing"...and said that Santa would be there. This morning, it has become a winter program. I have a hunch they got more than a few phone calls about it. I have mixed feelings, personally (while not one of the non-Christians, I'm also not one of the "ultra's). Heck, kids nowadays don't seem to know any of the "real" Christmas carols...

Does anyone else kind of feel as if we may be wobbling back and forth without any focus this time of year?
