SUBJECT: dog scratch
recently noticed that my 8 month old baby had a scratch above her right eyelid. It bled for a little bit but now has a thin scab covering the area. Although I can't be sure, I am concerned that my dog may have caused this scratch/bite. I heard him growling and when I looked over he was cowering in the corner. Is it possible for her to get tetanus from such a minor, superficial wound? I carefully cleaned the area with soap and she is currently up-to-date with her DPT shots (last one was given when she was 6 months old).
From,
A concerned mom.
