 | She's never been a calm eater, and at around 10 weeks she started pitching a big fit with her bottles! Which is alot of fun for us! She sucks a little like she's really hungry, and we know she should be hungry, then pulls back and cries, sucks, and so on.
It does seem to go along with her little syndrome (teething can cause it, too), because she mostly does this when she's tired at the same time. We have to calm her down first, with a pacifier or walking her, then once she's asleep, she'll take her bottle. Or sometimes she wakes back up to take it. Also, she takes it better after a good nap (which happens about once a week!) or during her night feedings, or if she happens to be awake but happier. Then, she's still easily distracted. We pretty much hold our breaths and make the kids be quiet when we're feeding her!
A nurse at my drs office said her son did the same thing. She said it got better at 4 mos when they moved to solid food, and he started using a cup at 6 mos. for all his milk.
This has gotten a little better the past week, but she's still really fretful. My doctor mentioned reflux at one time, but wouldn't that make a baby fuss with every bottle? If you don't mind me asking, what symptoms did your baby have of reflux (my doctor suggested silent reflux)? What kind of formula are you using? I'm thinking of trying Alimentum. I tried Nutramigen last week, and it gave her really bad diahrrea and diaper rash, so I quit it, maybe too soon. |
