i am in the same situation with my daughter, who is 18 months old. i have to hold her before she'll go to sleep and if I put her into her crib, she is up by 2am crying to get into my bed. I went through the same thing with my 3 year old - but she now sleeps in her own room. I do still have to sit with her or lay down with her to get her to sleep though. What worked to keep her in her room was bunkbeds. We bought her a set of bunkbeds and she has been in her room ever since. Since then we have gotten her a double bed because the bunkbeds were too much and it didn't change her sleeping habits at all. Try a new bed! I am thinking that my daughter is too big for her crib and isn't comfortable. She tosses and turns and wakes herself up by bumping into the side or getting her arm stuck through the bars. Who knows!! If you get any helpful advice that works please let me know!
