trying to concieve after getting off the pill

me and my husband is trying to concieve i got off the pill on feb.23,2002 i was on it for about 1 year it is now january my periods are all messed up i had one on the 27th of november and didnt have one in december i am now bleeding but it isnt heavy like normally it will start and stop for the past 3 days i did a test but it came back neg. it is driving me and my husband crazy because we just cant wait and next month will be 1 year since i have been off the pill can anyone give me any advice please thanks kat
