I was supposed to take 1000 mg a day but my stomach couldn't handle it so I went down to 500mg and ended up getting pregnant within a very short amount of time. I am now beginning my 6th month. My midwife took me off of Metformin at 10 weeks as we used it just to see if I would conceive with it. The main problem I am having at this point is we are in the process of doing the glucose screening and I have already failed the one hour...which points to gestational diabetes. I was going to a dietician before I got pregnant and we had discussed the fact that I would more than likely end up with gd. I am now on a strict diet (watching and counting carbs) and taking my blood sugar level 1 hour after every meal trying to control it with diet. I now have to go through a 3 hour glucose test that will really determine if it is gd. Other than the gd and being sick the whole time, things have been fine. We found out on Dec 9th that we are having a boy..which is what I was hoping for. He has been kicking and moving up a storm.
Good luck to you and feel free to email me at
Drgif74@aol.com and we can talk some more about PCO and pregnancies.
Thanks for responding,
Denise
