Dear Marcatena,
I had a C-section with my 2nd baby at 38 weeks. I chose to stay awake, and had my husband in the operating room with me, which was such a comfort to me. Please don't feel scared, the doctor can go over the surgery step by step so that you will understand it better. I had an epidural (I think it was) and they put the needle in my back, then i only felt them tugging on my stomach when they were "cutting" me. I did get a llittle bit sick during the surgery, but they immediately gave something in my IV, so it was fine. They reach in,pull the baby out, take the baby over to the table, clean her up, then you get to give her a kiss, and they sew you up. The only hard part was trying to breast feed my baby, my stomach was tender from the stitches, so the nurses had to help me with that. The recovery was about 4 weeks, but really the only thing I couldn't do was drive and go to the grocery store (which I didn't want to do anyway!!) I pray you will ask all of the questions you need to, It is hard, but you can do it!!
blessings,
cindy
