SUBJECT: To prevent another (needless) choking death
Scott Alan Miller
01/06/64 - 06/04/67
In loving memory of a little boy taken far too soon by a tragedy that could so easily have been prevented.
If we can prevent just one family from experiencing loss of a child and the terror of the experience of watching your child choke to death, your death might not have been in vein.
Scott died when he chocked on a piece of raw carrot. In 1967 we didn’t have the advantage of child CPR classes or the Heimlich maneuver.
Please do not give young children Raw vegetables (carrots, celery Etc) or raw hard fruit (Apples, Pears Etc) for more information on chocking hazards please log on to http://www.saferchild.org/firstaid.htm#Food
There are many more web sites (including this one) that has helpful information on how to prevent choking deaths.
Keep your little ones safe,
The Miller Family
