Thank you so much for your response. I think your last sentence spoke volumes. Why is your neighboring district ranked so high? Because they get breaks. Educational research has proven that study is more effective with frequent breaks. Why do network programs break every 15 minutes for a commercial??? The good 'ol human attention span. If adults can't stay focused for more than 15 minutes, how can we expect kids to go all day at school without breaks. And yes, you are right, working adults are guaranteed daily breaks from work. Don't you think kids should be guaranteed the same? What can we do about this? I fear things will only get worse as we continually raise the bar for academic achievement. Thanks, Meg
