SUBJECT: smashed penis
My 3 year old got his penis head smashed with a ceramic toilet seat. His two year old little brother decided he was done so he slammed it down and it was a horrible experience for my 3 year old. There was alot of blood and it swelled up for about a week. It also was severely bruised for a while. Ever since his accident, he will not let anyone or anything come in contact with his penis. when he goes to the bathroom, he will tell you not to touch his pee-pee. Or he'll say no mash the pee-pee. I know this is probably a normal reaction for such a traumatic experience. He was almost completely potty trained before this happened and then afterwards we had to start all over again. He was very afraid of the bathroom. Before we could get him back in the routine of potty training again, we had to change a few things like the toilet seat and lid from being ceramic to a lighter one. We also had to keep our two year old out of the bathroom when our three year old was in there. When my son takes a bath, I try and get him to wash his penis. Because he will not let you touch it at all and it makes him cry when you try to do it really fast without him realizing what your doing. My problem is how do I get him to trust me that I am not going to hurt him. He still has bathrooms issues also. He won't use the bathroom that his accident happened in he will tell you that it is broken and insists upon going in the other bathroom. I have no problem with this arrangement, but I also don't want him to be afraid of using the potty either. What should I do?
