Almost 2 yr old Nephew Sexually Abused??? Please Help!

Hi,
this is the first time I have ever been to this board and I do hope that this hasn't happened to my nephew but we have concerns. He will be 2 years old this month. My sister is in tears, worried that her father in law may have done something to her son. How can you tell if a child at this age has been touched, molested or anything? My mother lives with my sister and she too thinks something isnt normal.

Here is what happened to make us all suspect something.

First of all: My sisters father in law has been accused of molesting his sister (or niece..not exactly sure)a very long time ago when they were all much younger. No proof other than her saying that he did. My sister always had a concern about this but I guess overcame it to a degree.

Well my sister went out yesterday and left her son with his grandpa & grandma for the evening while she went out. When he came home my mom (my nephews other grandma) says to my sister that she noticed a weird smell when changing his diaper and that she had noticed it once before when he came back from his other grandparents house but didnt say anything...he also has a small amount of redening on his penis just below the head on the skin both times. He has been known to pull off his diaper lately (we figured that was all just being a toddler and starting to learn about potty training)and streak around the house. He shows no emotional signs of abuse and loves going up to his grandparents house. Do you think anything is going on or are we all just over reacting...I sure hope so. I love my nephew very much and the thought of this man hurting me sickens me and makes me want to rip his penis off and stuff it down his throat. Does anyone here know what would cause that odor? My mother said her first instinct was that something was happening to him when she first noticed this but I guess she felt like she was over reacting and dismissed it without saying anything to my sister. My sister is calling her pediatrician as we speak but I just thought that I too would try to help out as much as I can since I can't be there to comfort her. I live in another state. Any help is so much appreciated.
