| Being the mother of premie newborn twins, both of which have reflux, it doesn't take long to learn the tricks of the trade. My twins too are on Zantac; however, I don't follow the physicans directions of giving it to them twice a day, more like twice every other day. It seemed that the more Zantac I gave, the more the upset the tummies. However, a prescription drug called Reaglan, give .3cc 20 minutes before each feeding. It doesn't work every time but it does work most of the time. Also, the rice in the bottle does help them keep the meals down. Also, at 7 weeks I disgarded the pacifers, that worked wonders. Sitting in an upright position for 30 min. to an hr helps when things are really bad and plus they tending to go to sleep. I also notice that if I tried to burp again after the first spit up, a burp usally followed. And when sleeping, lay on the side with the right side down. I don't think reflux is of just doing one thing to make it better, but it's doing a number of things. With twins, you'll trying just about anything, even if it means standing on your head at 3 o'clock in the morning. |
