SUBJECT: blood and mucous in stool
I am sucessfully breastfeeding my four month old son Lukas, he eats no other foods currently. Problem is about one week ago I noticed a small amount of blood and mucous in his stool (twice during a 1 week period). I took him straight to the doctor who ran some tests and came up with nothing. We have been refered to another pediatrition who is running more tests and would like me to stop breastfeeding for two weeks to see if it has something to do with my milk or medication(paxil 20 mg.). Needless to say I will be going to a different pediatrition because I firmly believe this to be a bad idea! He is already having gastric problems, and also needs all the immunities I can dish out.
My son is not in pain and seems to be his normal self, smiling, playing, and eating normally. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar problem with their baby. Also maybe someone could share a thought or two on my situation, I am a first time mother, and could use some words of wisdom. Sorry this was so long!! Any comments would be greatly appriciated! Thanx in advance. :)
