SUBJECT: Expecting Twins, only one head down
Hi, I'm expecting twins in about 5 weeks, although they are showing signs of arriving very shortly.
One of them is still in the "head up" position. I have heard this is normal and that sometimes they flip after the first baby is born and can still be born vaginally without a problem. Is this true?
I'm already high risk and the babies are very small, only about 3 lbs each at the last fetal assessment.
I'm just wondering if a vaginal delivery is safe and if it's realistic to think that the one baby will turn itself during labor or delivery so that it is born in the normal position.
I'd rather not have a c-section if possible, because I'm a single mom with no help, so it would be difficult to care for newborn twins by myself after a c-section. I'm sure it won't be easy either way, but worse if I'm in pain and dealing with a major abdominal incision.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could share their experiences on this issue and how things turned out for you and your babies.
Thanks

Karen
