Yes, Zantac can be constipating. But, it is normal for a baby not to have a bowel movement for 2 or 3 days. My doctor said that as long as they go and it isn't hard then that's perfectly normal. Constipation is where they strain to get it out and my daughter's looked like gravel (little pellets). That is constipation. The soy formula combined with Zantac constipated her badly. So, the doctor was the one to switch her to Nutramigen. She did fine on it. After a while we finally quit giving her the Zantac because she started growing out of the reflux. But she stayed on Nutramigen so constipation wouldn't happen again. She has a milk allergy so milk based formulas (Enfamil, Similac, Good Start, etc.) were out for her.
