SUBJECT: Ambidexterous Anxiety
Recently I've been having some serious thought about what hand I should define myself by, but I've only confused myself more because of the many different tasks I perform with each hand. I write, eat, brush my teeth, stir, clap, use a calculator, comb my hair, and hold things with my left hand. Whereas, I throw, shoot a basketball, kick, bat, hit things, snap, bowl, and lift with my right hand. No one has ever forced me to use my left or right hand in any task whatsoever. At this realization I started to assume I was ambidexterous. But I can't do these tasks EQUALLY with both hands(I can write legibly with my right hand but it's not as good as my left). So does this mean I'm not ambidexterous. I've asked most of my friends and relatives about it and they shake it off by saying that I should just be happy I can use both hands like that(or they'll say I'm left handed simply because I write with my left hand), but that's not good enough . Most people regard my delimma as petty, which has made me reluctant to ask about it.
I used to say that I was left-handed and right-armed, but that doesn't describe me completely either. Is there anyone who has any suggestions about whether I'm left-handed, right-handed, or ambidexterous?
