I think the guidelines say that baby has to be able to crawl (or be darn near it) and be able to feed himself and (preferably) have a couple teeth. But I gave my daughter biscuits to try when she was about 6 1/2 months old. She'd gum them. I actually thought the zweiback toast was better because, when the biscuit got small, she'd put the whole thing in her mouth and choke every time. The zweiback toast didn't do that. Plus, the biter biscuits were messy. They'd kind of run and get gooey. I just gave them to her any time to gnaw on. At first it really didn't help or hurt her hunger. Later I gave them as a snack.
