Bottle of milk at bedtime blues

My 2 year old drinks everything you can think of out of a regular cup except milk. My doctor says babies should be off the bottle by 15 months so I stopped the bottle at 15 months and he stopped drinking milk. I took him in for a check up and the doctor said HE NEEDS HIS MILK DON'T GIVE HIM ANYTHING ELSE TO DRINK UNTIL HE STARTS DRINKING MILK WITHOUT THE BOTTLE. I spent so much $$$ on different kinds of cups, sipper cups, straws, etc. He still wouldn't drink milk. I finally put him back on the bottle but with milk only. How do I get him to drink milk out of a cup?
