My son doesn't sleep thru the night either and he will be 2 in December. I have been trying different things and one that works (most of the time anyway!) - nothing ever works all the time with him - I go in to his room and lay next to the bed when he won't go to sleep and tell him I will stay with him there until he goes back to sleep but if he continues to cry or gets up, I say I will leave. Sometimes I have to act like I am leaving and he will usually lay back down and say "OK mommy" and will usually go back to sleep after 10 -20 minutes. The only trouble is sometimes I am so tired that I fall asleep there on the floor next to the crib and wake up stiff in an hour or so. But at least everyone gets back to sleep in a resonable amount of time. We have tried so many things - rearranging bed times, soothing baths, etc. But I wish someone could tell me why he can't seem to stay asleep !!
