SUBJECT: medication?
I have a 7 year old who is very bright and extremely sensetive. There seems to be a concern at school with his focusing. He seems to need to walk around in order to stay with the program. I dont have any problems with him outside of school. He is not defiant or agressive. The teacher seems to think a little medication might settle him down in class. We have talked about it with him at home and he says, "His brain is really busy sometimes and it helps if he gets up and thinks while he takes a walk." Me and my husband have to himd our faces because sometimes we want to laugh at his interpretation of himself. I am not opposed to medecine for add but shouldn't the school test him 1st. He is extremely bright and does well grade wise. I dont want to sell my kid short by putting on a drug that he needs just so he fits in with what society deems the "norm". I also dont want to see him struggle socially because he is a little different. Any thoughts or suggestions?
