SUBJECT: 18 mo and doing the potty
My daughter is only 18 months old and on her way to being potty trained. For her 1 year birthday, grandma bought her a little potty, and I put it in the bathroom. She started going in and sitting on it and saying "I GO POTTY!" so I put her in pull ups and started taking her to the potty a couple times a day. Every time she goes she looks so pleased with herself and claps. She has even started telling me if she has to go pee pee or poo poo (her words). She has not even had a wet pull up in 4 days! My neighbour says that it is not good for me to be toilet training her, she says she's too young and I shouldn't let her go in the potty any more, but she wants to use the potty. Who's right? I was potty trained at 22 months and and perfectly fine, physically and mentally.
