I think that family and friends finally took the dairy allergy seriously when we had to show them how to use the epi-pen (like a bee sting kit). We are fortunate in that Molly never liked dairy products. We live close to a grocery store that sells natural/health food products. Molly can enjoy soy milk, cheese, and yogurt. She can even have soy fudgesicles and pizza bites.
Eating at restaurants is still a nightmare. We have to question the server or manager about every suspicious meal. We enjoy eating out, but there a few restaurants that we can eat at, now.
