I agree with you that children need consistent discipline. You're probably a very good mother. I understand that not every child is perfect and there's no perfect parent.
I think I was just getting angry reading the messages that were posted and the advice that was being given.
Some of the parents were freaking out about their 2 or 3 year olds behavior. They were getting advice to seek professional counseling for their children, to hit them with shoes, preach the bible to them, etc. I was shocked at some of the advice.
My intent was to help people understand that it's common for toddlers to test you, throw tantrums, cry, hit, bite, and all the other fun stuff they do! And to simply love their children for who they are. People are calling their toddlers ignorant and stupid. I feel really sorry for the kids whose parents are going to give them the feelings that they are bad children instead of trying to discipline them in positive ways.
Mothers are saying that they spank their child 10 times a day and nothing will change the way they're acting. That's why I was angry and telling parents that if they can't control their anger, they should go to parenting classes. Being that aggressive with a child and putting them down only leads to worse behavior.
