Really it's sad your sister has let this go one for so long. What is happening is that lice are adapting to the Nix medication. I received a very potent prescription for my daughter called, "Qwale" or something like that. It worked, but the most important thing your sister can do is to get the eggs out (nothing kills the eggs completely). I pull the whole hair. If my daughter had lice for 8 months (I would shave it and dye it pink so she'd feel cool or something). Just an idea...but the biggest thing that she needs to do is to get those eggs out of that head! I've spent up to 7 hours on my kids head and I freak out every time I find out she's been exposed (have had it 4 times in my home ugh). I can relate to your concerns! :) Good luck!
