 | My 9 yr old son is scared and has been since I can remember. I have done everything imaginable, from nightlights, praying, sleeping with him, him sleeping with me, we have rewarded his sucessful nights, we have grounded for unsucessful nights. I have done everything but seek professional help. Each thing we have tried has been consistent, and has never worked. He always thinks "something" is in his room or wherever it is dark. Last night drew my final straw. He came down stairs like he always does around 3:00 am and was shaking and heart racing, swaring someone touched his cheek and said "a boy" We were up half the night after this one. I am a single mom of 2. We have been divorced for 3 years, but this has been a problem even when me and his father were married. It has been around since he was 3 with night terrors, that doctors said he would grow out of. It is only worse. Please any suggestions wouldbe helpful. Thanks |
