Did the teacher compliment him on his great new glasses? Ask him if they're helping him and how?
Talk about the sports figures who wear them? Discuss microscopes?
Suggest you have a friend in sciences offer to do a brief demo in his class and include a microscope and a pointed reference to the GREAT advancement in science when GLASSES came into our lives.
Of course, ask teacher if he's willing to go along with this AAND DO NOT LET YOUR SON KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. It will only convince him that he has something to worry about.
