| I'm 33 weeks pregnant. I also have a stent. It implanted 6 weeks ago. Like you, the first week or two I felt great. Unfortunately, after my pain increased significantly along with the amount of blood in my urine. The blood issue scared me to death. I went to see my urologist, who said this is all normal and prescribed more pain medication. (Tylenol 3 and Percocet) It was my OB caught the fact that I had an infection...I've had two additional infections since the first. So you might insist on having your urine screened today, in addition insist you OB do a "clean catch urine culture" at each visit. Keep in mind, you have an open wound that's bleeding in your urinary tract, so you are very prone to infection.
I never heard of replacing the stent after 6 weeks. But I've been having tons of back pain and I'm so uncomfortable, that I'm planning to call my urologists office this morning. In fact two weeks ago when I was at my OB I asked if it was possible that the stent could lose it effectiveness because my symptoms of the stone where returning...they looked at me like I was nuts!
Thanks so much for the info. If you know of any other resources where I could become more educated about my condition I would really appreciate the info.
